Many people are not aware that words are powerful. Oftentimes when we are angry or feel bad, we are dragged by our emotions and say whatever we want. Words of hatred, resentment, worries, doubts and fears. We are not thinking the result or effect afterwards to our lives and to other people who are listening.
I remember one mentor said that “you can determine someone’s life and future based on the words that are coming out from his mouth.” Can you imagine that? Our words molds our future and experiences in life. Successful people are aware of the effect and power of their words. These people have proven to their own lives that words are powerful, that’s why all of them are making a positive affirmations.
The words that you utter to others will also come back to you. Therefore, you can use your tongue to bring blessings into your life and to others, or curse to yourself and to others.
Proverbs 18:21- “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”
Choose to bless others and bless yourself. When you read the Scriptures, there are so many verses that are telling us to be careful with the words we are uttering as though tongue is just a small part of the body, but it is like a fire that spread and burned a wide surface of the mountain.
James 3:6- “Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark”
Matthew 15:11-“It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
You can read the Bible for there are so many verses explaining about our words and teachings that are giving wisdom. Remember God created us, the universe and all the living things including human through His spoken word (read in Genesis 1).
